About HapticAnalysis.org
This site is the home of the HapticAnalysis projects, a collection of tools for analysis and control of haptic devices and teleoperators.
The two main projects now are:
- The HapticAnalysis Package - Free software for analysis of haptic teleoperators using the 'Hybrid Matrix Notation'.
The symbolic analysis is done in GNU/Maxima, a Free software for symbolic math, and the numeric analysis is done in Mathworks Matlab (TM). - Introduction to Teleoperation - A Free textbook about haptic teleoperation. It covers analysis and control of haptic (kineasthetic) single-dof teleoperators, sometimes called bilateral teleoperators. Various control architectures and performance measures from literature are discussed and compared, quantiatively and qualitatively.
It has been used as an introductory text for graduate students mainly in the Benelux area since 2005.
The HapticAnalysis Project was started at the Delft Haptics Laboratory by Goran Christiansson in 2005. We are also grateful for the valuable feedback and support from the haptics community, among others Blake Hannaford, Gunter Niemeyer, Yasuyoshi Yokokohji, Jee Hwan Ryu, Dale Lawrence, Tim Salcudean and many others.
Current Developers: Goran Christiansson, Ilhan Polat and Patrice Lambert
